Conversion & Extension, High Wycombe

For this complex 8,000 sq ft property of which some parts date back to the 16th century, we created a large open plan kitchen-diner by converting and linking two ground floor rooms, as well as extending the house with a bespoke oak framed conservatory.

Liaising closely with the structural engineer and architect, Dukeswood co-designed the structure of the new roof with skylight. By inserting steel beams in the existing 18th Century timber roof, our solution managed to avoid the need for columns, making the most of the open plan space.

The existing floors were re-levelled and a wet underfloor heating system was installed together with state of the art (Sonas) Audio Visual and (Lutron) lighting systems.

Residential Extension, Iver Heath

Bespoke design and build of a 2-storey extension of 3,000 sq ft to a 1930's private residence in South Buckinghamshire.

After obtaining planning approval, we carefully matched the new brickwork, pointing and roof tiles to the existing, by using reclaimed materials. The complicated roof structure was built on site.

The extension created space for a new large master bedroom with luxury designed ensuite bathroom, second ensuite and a new family bathroom.

Grade II Listed Property, Hedgerley

Since 2005 Dukeswood has been involved, on an ongoing basis, in the refurbishment and maintenance to this Grade II property.

Recent work includes the restoration of existing outbuildings including new doors to garages, the design & build of two covered pergolas, design and fitting of new cloakroom and new kitchen lighting scheme, which was challenging due to low ceilings with minimal cavity space.

Holyport Refurbishment

For this 4 bedroom cottage in Holyport, West Berkshire, we designed a new bathroom and shower/wet room, upgraded the existing kitchen and carried out a full refurbishment and decoration of the rest of the house.
